Welcome to SurfFitter. By accessing or using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
1. Intellectual Property
SurfFitter, including its underlying algorithms, source code, design, and calculation engine, is the exclusive property of the SupraNanoBioMol research group, CiQUS, and Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. The software is closed-source and proprietary. Access to the web application does not grant you any license to the source code.
2. Permitted Academic Use
SurfFitter is currently provided free of charge strictly for academic, non-commercial research purposes. You are permitted to upload data, run analyses, and download the resulting reports for your personal or institutional research.
3. Commercial Use Restrictions
Any commercial use of SurfFitter is strictly prohibited without a prior written licensing agreement. You may not reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or integrate SurfFitter's calculation engine or results into any commercial product, service, or proprietary database.
4. Citation Requirement
If you use results generated by SurfFitter in any scientific publication, presentation, or public document, you are required to cite our foundational theoretical article: Thermodynamics of Lipid Langmuir Monolayers: proposal of a new π-APL equation of state.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
SurfFitter is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for scientific accuracy, we make no warranties regarding the absolute correctness of the thermodynamic fits. The authors and affiliated institutions shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, data loss, or research setbacks resulting from the use of this tool.
6. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Galicia, Spain.
